Can I ask about some of the vilest Rave Master candidates for Complete Monster?
- Approved examples: Ogre and Shakuma. (They are certainly some of the worst. Let's skip them.)
- Debated examples: Sir Lance, Slade, the scientists, Igor, Giraffe, Koala, Blue Guardians, Haja and Berial.
- Vile Villains Who are Not This: King, Lucia, Doryu and Hardner (All are among those with a reasonable Freudian Excuse. Let's skip them as well.)
Let's go to the ones in the middle.
- Sir Lance: Who is he? He is one of the lesser DC commanders.
What has he done? He kidnapped Elie, attempted to kill his elite henchman for having a battle dragged on, and wanted to kill the heroes.
Truly heinous by the story's standards? Nope. It's the villainy done by many villains in this series. 👎
- Slade: Who is he? He is a soldier from the Empire.
What has he done? He killed King's family and henchmen for being criminals and also for a promotion. And he imprisoned King and his surviving son. He also attempted to kill Gale Glory for founding Demon Card. It also later lead to King and Lucia's Big Bad status.
Truly heinous by the story's standards? Not really. The story has worse mass-murders and his is eclipsed by Berial, who was established to have slaughtered a town. Technically could Slade do the same. And wanted he to cause King and Lucia to commit genocide? (Something, that he COULD do as well!) Nope. He wanted them imprisoned for being assumed as criminals. Nowhere at Ogre and Shakuma's level. 👎
- The scientists: As mentioned, they don't stand out from each other. 👎
- Igor: I don't remember him, so I can't tell. Skip.
- Giraffe: Who is he? He is a member from the Blue Guardians.
What has he done? After petting his partner a few times, he brutalized her for failing and mocked Musica several times.
Truly heinous by the story's standards? Nope. Mostly Kick the Dog behavior and too many valid Pet the Dog moments. 👎
- Koala: Who is he? He is also a member from the Blue Guardians.
What has he done? Gave Branch torture tools, turned Branch to a cyborg and a living bomb, wanted to kidnap Elie and to steal a staff.
Truly heinous by the story's standards? The Blue Guardians are a group filled with sadistic torturers. That doesn't cuts him really. Turning Branch to a cyborg and a living bomb was however really heinous, but after realising what he did, and that he could not undo this, he cried (most likely Tears of Fear, since he was before his possible punishment). Though he actually apologized to Haru. 👎
Blue Guardians: The Blue Guardians are a group filled with sadistic torturers. So Chien, Lievre/Reevil, Giraffe and Requin don't really cut it. And that's all what they are. 👎
Haja: Who is he? He is DC's second in command. Later replaced with Megido for the endgame.
What has he done? Betrayed DC, tried to wipe both the Demon Card and the magic society he was born in, all so he can rule the universe with his infinite magic.
Truly heinous by the story's standards? What he wanted to do was pretty bad, but Shakuma did worse and they have almost the same resources. 👎
Berial: Who is he? A member from DC, who is also a demon.
What has he done? Destroyed a town, attempted to kill the heroes and mocked them.
Truly heinous by the story's standards? No. Nothing truly heinous aside from town destroying. 👎
Can you at least help me explain what's about these characters from the second line. I don't really understand how to qualify for a character for this trope.
