There was earlier reference to the "first resistance", which hints at this being a more direct continuation, sooo... how did humanity forget that aliens settled on their planet? Everyone seems so surprised when they show up. I'm pretty early in the series, so this may get explained away somehow, but I'm just a little confused.
** It's not in continuity with the original version. In this version the Visitors have been infiltrating for years, and the "first resistance" refers to the origin of the Fifth Column.
