Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS/Tear Jerker: Difference between revisions

Line 31:
*Episode 58 shows us how Yusaku was before the incident. He was a cheerful boy who loves to play Duel Monsters a big contrast with the person he is today. He was so cheerful and innocent that he immediately accepted Ryoken's invitation to play Duel Monsters at his house. Too bad this resulted in him getting kidnapped, being tortured, and losing the joy and love he has for the game.
**Ryoken, being eight at that time, most likely did not intentionally lead Yusaku to being kidnapped hence him becoming Yusaku's voice of hope; he probably felt guilty for unknowingly dooming Yusaku to such a horrible fate. Ryoken was most likely just an innocent kid who loved playing Duel Monsters and was happy to make a friend in Yusaku. Ryoken most likely actually just wanted to show Yusaku his deck at his house, become friends with Yusaku, and did not intend anything bad. The fact that something bad did happen must have made Ryoken feel horrible. If the Lost Incident didn't happen, Ryoken and Yusaku might have become the best of friends instead of being on opposing sides in present
*Soulburner getting caught by Blood Shepherd's trap by saving Playmaker already is bad enough, but getting captured triggers his memories from the Lost Incident/Hanoi Project. In his head he sees himself as a young boy screaming and being scared of an A.I. that he sees as a big black scary monster. It's clear that while Soulburner may seem fun loving and a skilled duelist, he is still a kid who had to experience the horror of the incident and still couldn't get over it 10 years since then.
**Playmaker's reaction to this is clear guilt and distress since Soulburner got caught, because Soulburner saved him. He probably thinks it's his fault for getting him there.
