At first, it seems like this is just part of his attempt to toughen Finn up. However, if the canines of Ooo mature as rapidly as normal dogs, then Finn would have been struggling to walk by the time Jake and Jerome would have been considered adolescents. Joshua thinks Finn is a crybaby because ''humans mature very slowly compared to dogs''.
