To this end, he seeks and find the asgardians refugees going in the direction of Earth and massacres half of them as part of his philosophy of population control. After ~~obtaining~~ the Tesseract and the Space Stone with it, Heimdall with his last breath transports Bruce Banner to Earth to the Sanctus Sanctorum, with one message to give: Thanos is coming to Earth, and if he obtains all of the Infinity Stones, he will kill half of the population of the Universe.
