- Ensemble Darkhorse: The beatnik Go Man Van Gogh.
- Older Than They Think: Prior to the creation of this show, Bob Clampett held a puppet show called Time For Beany, which shows Cecil's roots as a hand-puppet. (which became a Running Gag in the show, as we never see the bottom of Cecil) Oh, and Stan Freberg (Creator) voiced Cecil.
- The cartoon was first billed as Matty's Funnies with Beany & Cecil (sponsored by Mattel toys). It aired in prime time for just the 1961-62 season, then migrated to ABC Saturday morning for five years as just "Beany & Cecil."
- Too Good to Last: And how!
