The series takes place in the same universe as Noir and Black Lagoon
Ass-kicking, physics defying Girls Withwith Guns who deal with the violent underbelly of the crime and government. Yes.
** Someone certainly does look a lot like Revy, too.

** Synethesia seems to fit more with the Pure Eyes category than the mystic eyes one since they don't affect the world

Canaan's setting was created by a cosmic cataclysm when Nasuverse collided with Noirverseverse and Black Lagoon Verse
Canaan is a Bizarro Universe version of Reinforce (Eins).
Both of them are Action Girlss who have platinum blonde-ish hair, (sometime)red eyes and their tops look similar from the front. However: Canaan's some hair is short compared to Rein's flowing locks. Canaan is a bit short of flat while Rein has huge tracts of land. Canaan wears pants while Rein favours a Mini-Dress of Power. Canaan uses a gun while Rein sticks by spells. Rein is a supporting character while Canaan isn't. The Nanoha-verse, despite its turn to the Darker and Edgier with StrikerS and Force, essentially still leans to the idealistic, while Canaan(the series) leans to the cynical. And Rein dies (except when she doesn't), while Canaan doesn't... Okay, I think I am stretching it.

The series takes place in the same universe as Kane and Lynch and Army of Two
Because they all happen in Shanghai in the near future. Thought that several connections can be found but cannot name any.

Borners are an attempt at making artificial Contractors.
The Ua Virus turns people into drug-dependent superhumans with drawbacks. The protagonist lacks aforementioned drawback. Clearly the virus was derived from Hell's Gate-related research :)
