* The Rival: In the initial arc. More The Lancer after he is rejected as Master Of The Cards.

Sakura's deceased mother who , Nadeshiko was Sonomi's best friend and cousin whom Sonomi was very protective over.

* Big Eater: According to Sonomi.
Line 375:
* Canon Foreigner: Meiling does not exist in the manga continuity, although there is some official manga-style art floating around.
* Childhood Marriage Promise: To Syaoran.
* Chinese Girl
* Clingy Jealous Girl: At first she would literally cling to Syaoran's arm and throw Death Glares at Sakura. Then she befriends Sakura while still clinging to Syaoran's arm, and ultimately joins the I Want My Beloved to Be Happy club with Tomoyo and Touya.
* Cry Cute: When she sheds tears, you can't help wanting to hug her.
Line 581 ⟶ 580:
* Dishing Out Dirt: Earthy and Sand.
* Four-Element Ensemble: Windy, Watery, Firey and Earthy.
* Flat Character: Well, they are cards... Many of the cards lack real personalities, but some cards like Through, Wave, Libra and Bubbles do not even get focus episodes.
* Freaky Friday Flip: Change can make two people swap bodies, as it does to Syaoran and Kero. Hilarity Ensues.
* Freeze Ray: The Freeze Card pulls this off.
Line 612 ⟶ 611:
* No Name Given: The Nameless until it fuses with the Nothing to create the Hope Card.
* Our Werebeasts Are Different: The Snow card is a Yuki-Onna
* Paper People: Only when they're cards.
* Pint-Sized Powerhouse: The Power Card. Never underestimate this cutesy-looking, pink-clad little girl!
* Playing with Fire: Firey.
Line 659:
* Back from the Dead:
* But Not Too Foreign: Half-British and half-Chinese. This influenced the way he developer his magic, since he combined elements of Eastern and Western magic to create the Cards.
* The Chessmaster: See Eriol.
* Eccentric Mentor: Sakura thinks of him this way when learning of his plan.
** Trickster Mentor
Line 672 ⟶ 673:
* Reincarnation: Into Eriol and Fujitaka in the manga.

Tomoyo's mother and Nadeshiko's best friend plus cousin. She resents Fujitaka from marrying Nadeshiko at such a young age but is thrilled to be in Sakura's company.

Line 795 ⟶ 804:

* Tsundere: Non-romantic - or so it seems - to Fujitaka.

Sakura's great-grandfather, who was originally distant from the Kinomoto family because he disapproved of Nadeshiko and Fujitaka's marriage. He becomes closer to them after meeting Sakura, and by the Clear Card arc he has decided to will his summer house to Sakura.

The English dub renames him to "Mr. Avalon", changing him from Nadeshiko' grandfather to Fujitaka's father.

Akiho's butler, always ready with a cup of tea and a plate of chocolates. He always appears in uniform, with his pocket watch.

What isn't obvious until part way through the Clear Card arc is that Kaito is also
