All The Tropes uses the term somewhat more generically. We don't confine the term to European works or the 19th century; instead, we use "Japonisme" to refer to any non-Japanese work that noticeably uses [[Japanese Visual Arts Tropes]]. This is a subcategory of [[:Category:Cultural Blending\|Cultural Blending]], where the culture being blended is Japanese.
