** Some mention has to be made for {{spoiler|the second movie, which gives us Chou Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: an [[Energy Being]] which might well be the reincarnation of Kamina, wearing Simon's star-shades and a fiery energy-cape, standing taller than galaxies, and looking fit to crush the Grand Zamboa underfoot. Granted, Grand Zamboa promptly matches his size barely a minute later, but that's not the point}}. It's outlandish and illogical, comes straight out of left field (even for this series), and can be neatly described as a vision of Awesomeness.

** Only for a short while but Guren-hen has a scene right at the beginning which shows Lordgenome announcing his dominion over Earth while the Chouginga Lazengann is ''sitting on Earth as if the planet was its throne''. For those who haven't seen the series, said mecha is [[Humongous Mecha|the size of a planetoid]] (the upper half of [http://www.keichi.de/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Galaxy_gurren_lagann.jpg this] is the mecha in question) - more exactly, it was ''disguised as the Moon'' for a long while.

** Nia, the [[Token Mini-Moe]] of the first half and the [[Damsel in Distress]] of the second half got massively beefed up in the second movie as far as {{spoiler|[[Evil Makeover|her Anti-Spiral form]]}} is concerned: {{spoiler|when she appeared in the prison to kill Simon, Viral tried to take advantage of his [[Healing Factor]] to take her down in hand-to-hand combat... and [[No ~~Sell~~|a single attack from her]] sent him flying over her with a multi-somersault, lodging his head between a pair of iron bars.
