* A favourite for many seems to be ''[[Doctor Who]]'', due to the remarkable ease with which the Doctor can be inserted in any story just by having the TARDIS land there. One of the most famous, ''[[The Man With No Name]]'', is a ''[[Firefly]]'' / ''Doctor Who'' crossover, which some say should be officially added to [[Canon]].

** Yet it VERY''very'' strangely lists one of the unofficial rules of the internet dealing with crossovers (specifically, [[Touhou|rule (9)]]

** Another crossover that's become increasingly popular is [[Super Who]]"SuperWho", which combines ''Doctor Who'' with ''[[Supernatural (TV series)|Supernatural]]''.

** All it took was one scene where a pony had a David Tennant-like hairstyle and an hourglass on his quarter. The result is that under crossovers at [[Fanfiction.net]], ''Doctor Who'' is the most popular thing to cross into the world of ''[[My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic|My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic]]'', beating out [[Sonic the Hedgehog]].

* Fanfic wise, it's almost impossible to find a fandom that ''doesn't'' have a crossover with ''[[Harry Potter]]. ''.

*** "Voldemort has found a way to go back [[Somewhere a Palaeontologist Is Crying|thousands of years]], to the time of the great dinosaurs"? That's not a promising opening line. ** There is a really good one between ''[[Harry Potter (novel)|Harry Potter]]'' and ''[[Final Fantasy VIII]]'' that starts when Harry, age 5, is magically transported to the world of [[Final Fantasy VIII|FF8]] and once there he becomes a fine Gunblade fighter and is somehow able to use ''[[Final Fantasy VIII|FF8]]'' magic and do everything one can in the game... without using Guardian Forces. He later has to go back to his own world, where an evil Dumbledore lays in waiting... ** There's a small collection of ''[[Calvin and Hobbes]]''/Literature/HarryPotter''[[Harry Potter]]'' crossovers, all involving Calvin being a wizard. * There are a few fics that cross over all the [[Nicktoons]]. One that does this along with extreme AU along with Alternate History (Vlad is now king of an [[Fictional Counterpart]] of America!) would be ''[http://chesspiece.smackjeeves.com Chess Piece]'' by [[Neo Yi]]. It's filled with tons of continuity nods and has everything, from ''[[The Wild Thornberrys]]'', ''[[Invader Zim]]'', and ''[[Dora the Explorer]]'' to ''[[Doug]]'', ''[[Aaahh Real Monsters]]'', ''[[CatDog]]'', and ''[[My Life as a Teenage Robot]]''. Seriously; it is also [[Rule of Cool|awesome]].

* Not many Crossover fics have managed to be as awesome as ''[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4821971/1/Edward_meets_Sherlock_Holmes Sherlock Holmes vs Edward Cullen.]''.

** Another good one is ''[http://sfdebris.com/unity.asp Unity]'' by notable contributor [[SF Debris]]. What is a wormhole was connected from the Delta Quadrant circa Voyager's fifth season to the Star Wars Universe circa early Return of The Jedi, (disrupting the Rebel Alliance's attempt to attack the second Death Star.) Involved every character from TNG forward moving well into the future and exploring all the potential interactions in detail.

** To complete the trifecta of renowned ''Star Wars'' vs. ''Star Trek'' fanfics, there's ''[http://bbs.stardestroyer.net/viewtopic.php?t=404&highlight= StarCrossed]''.

* ''[[Shinji and Warhammer40K|Shinji and Warhammer 40 K]]''.

** ''SORTSort OFof. '' [[Shinji and Warhammer40K|Shinji and Warhammer 40 K]]'' is less of a straight crossover, where the universes meet, and more of a fix fic where Shinji is a badass manipulator who likes ''40K''. Not to say there aren't crossover elements, just... it's not the straightest example of one. A better example of an ''Evangelion/Warhammer'' crossover would be ''[[Thousand Shinji]]''.

* ''[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5493333/1/Brother_Bubbles Brother Bubbles]''. Space Marine Terminator finds himself in Rapture. Then meets a Little Sister.

* Raquaza Master's ''[http://s1.zetaboards.com/PokeTown_2/index/ Pokemon Squad]'' fanfics are supposed to combine the characters from ''[[Pokémon]]'', ''[[KaBlam!]]!'', ''[[Barney and Friends]]'' (Barney is going to be one of the main antagonists), ''[[Danny Phantom]]'', ''[[Animaniacs]]'', ''[[Sesame Street]]'' (Elmo's going to be an upcoming villain), many video games, and much, much more.

* The ''[[Ranma ½]]'' fandom loves to create crossovers. There existsexist several archives devoted to them. Particularly common are crossovers with ''[[Sailor Moon]]'' which has a sub genre called the [[Fuku Fic]] that has more fan fics written for it than most anime has fan fics total.

* ''[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6095074/1/Takamachi_Nanoha_of_2814 Takamachi Nanoha of 2814]'' is a ''[[Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha]]'' Crossover with ''[[Green Lantern]]''. Then, it started to cross over with ''everything'' by chapter 3. Written by the almost infamous Shadow Crystal Mage, so you know it's good. [[Takamachi Nanoha of 2814|Now with its own page.]]

* An author on [[F FnetFanfiction.net]] has created this [http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2322545/1/Halo_Republic_Commando\ this], a ''Star Wars'' and ''Halo'' crossover where the characters of Republic Commando (and some friends and enemies) meet Master Chief and company in the ''Halo'' universe. There is a sequel that takes place mostly in the ''Star Wars'' universe during the events of the Original Trilogy.

* ''[[A Dark Knight Over Sin City]]''. It's rather obvious what it is about, going by the [[Exactly What It Says on the Tin|title.]]

* ''[[Quinn in Wonderland]]'': [[Glee|Quinn Fabray]] falls [[Down the Rabbit Hole]] and ends up in [[Alice in Wonderland|Wonderland]]

* [[Brutal Series|''Brutal, Horrible'', and ''What If'']] isare a series of crossovers between ''[[Axis Powers Hetalia]]'' and the''[[The Hunger Games]]''. Also [[Alternate Universe]].

* One author has even crossed over (at various times) ''Transformers'' with ''[http://www.transformersfanfic.com/viewstory.php?sid=2439&chapter=1 Knight Rider]'', ''The [http://www.transformersfanfic.com/viewstory.php?sid=865&chapter=1 Real Ghostbusters]'', ''Masters of the Universe, [http://www.transformersfanfic.com/viewstory.php?sid=873&chapter=1 Sailor] [http://www.transformersfanfic.com/viewstory.php?sid=866&chapter=1 Moon], [http://shebakoby.deviantart.com/art/Jewel-Of-4-Sparks-32879715 Inuyasha]'', and ''[http://www.transformersfanfic.com/viewstory.php?sid=5021&chapter=1 Judge Judy]''.

* [http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1263379/gabriel_blessing Gabriel Blessing] is well known for his two ''[[Fate/stay night|Fate Stay Night]]'' crossovers:

** ''[[The Hill of Swords]]'', a ''[[Zero no Tsukaima]]'' crossover wherein Louise summons Shirou as her familiar. This [[Fanfic]] revived the whole concept of "Let's have Louise summon a different person than Saito !"

* In ''[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5803383/1/Divine_Intervention Divine Intervention]'' The [[The Boondock Saints|MacManus brothers]] meet the [[Supernatural (TV series)|Winchester brothers.]] And it is COOL''cool''.

* One of the most prevalent type of ''[[My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic|My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic]]'' fanfics, together with [[Ho Yay|Fem]] Slash. The most regular kinds are those such as ''[[Better Living Through Science and Ponies]]'' (''[[Portal (series)|Portal]]'') and ''[[Turnabout Storm]]'' (''[[Ace Attorney]]''), where another series' characters are transported to Equestria, sometimes [[Fisher Kingdom|turning into ponies in the process]], and Fusion Fics such as ''[[Fallout Equestria]]'' ([[Fallout|guess]]) and ''[[Friends of a Solar Empire]]'' (''[[Sins of a Solar Empire]]'').

* ''[[Demon of Justice]]'' is older than [[Fanfiction.net]] and crosses ''[[Gundam Wing]]'' with ''[[The War Gods|Oath of Swords]]'', a high fantasy series.

* ''[[Kyon: Big Damn Hero]]'' manages to become a crossover between ''[[Haruhi Suzumiya]]'' and ''[[TV Tropes]]'', with ''[[Higurashi no Naku Koro ni]]'' and bits of {{spoiler|''[[Half-Life (series)|Half-Life]]''}} added in as well.

* ''[http://games.adultfanfiction.net/story.php?no=600086731 Bayonsiders]'' has War from ''[[Darksiders]]'' and Bayonetta from ''[[Bayonetta]]'' meet up, have sex, beat up angels, beat up demons, and have sex while beating up angels and demons at the same time. All while trying to stay in continuity of both games.

* Decent [http://www.fanfiction.net/Pokemon_and_Digimon_Crossovers/80/257/ ''Pokemon/Digimon'' crossovers] are not that common in fanfiction, but of late some interesting new submissions have popped up. [[Sturgeon's Law]] may be applicable due to grammar issues, but those with decent grammar tend to be alright.

* Even though the first story of ''[[A Sticky Situation]]'' remains solidly in the ''[[Digimon Tamers|Digimon]]'' season three universe, the second story tosses several of the characters into ''[[Star Wars: The Clone Wars|Star Wars the Clone Wars]]'' due to a dimension-traveling digimon called Parallelmon (a [[Canon]] digimon, not an [[OC]] of the author). It is very well written and very entertaining.

* The game-idea series ''[http://crossoverx.wikia.com/wiki/Crossover_X_Wiki Crossover X]'' practically ''lives'' on this trope. It even uses the word "crossover" in its name.

* At least 300 crossovers of ''[[Total Drama Island]]'' are available on fanfiction.net.

* The "Tommy Westphall Universe" (or, alternatively, "The John Munch Principle") ties dozens of television series from the 1970's to the present through the characters of Tommy Westphall from ''[[St. Elsewhere]]'' (who is revealed to have imagined the entire series in the final scene of the final episode) and John Munch, the Baltimore detective who has made crossover appearances in many television series (including the ''[[Law and Order]]'' canon, ''[[The X-Files]]'' and ''[[Homicide: Life on the Street]]''). Thanks to Munch's crossovers and cameos, as well as shared elements and names that occur between different franchises and series, a theorem was developed showcasing the connections. More than ''90%'' of all television shows are connected via crossover, including the entire ''[[All in The Family]]'' franchise, ''[[The Wire]]'', the entire ''[[Law and Order]]'' franchise, every major medical drama made in the 90's and 00's, and many more. * Apparently among Mr. Roark's ''[[Fantasy Island]]'' magical, mystical abilities is the [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_g_4C7-2Dg power to CrossOvercrossover with other AaronSpelling[[Aaron Spelling]] series].

* The episodes of ''[[Law and Order Special Victims Unit]]'' and ''[[Law & Order: Trial by Jury|Law and Order Trial By Jury]]'' titled "Night" and "Day," respectively, were crossovers of each other on the same night. The major characters from each series appeared on both episodes, which dealt with a rapist. ''SVU'' focused on the investigation and arrest of the rapist, while ''Trial by Jury'' focused on the trial. (There was some discontinuity here. At the end of ''SVU'', the case was declared a slamdunk. At the beginning of ''TBJ'', the case became a sure loser.)

** Most of ''[[Law and& Order: Trial Byby Jury]]'' was a continuation of a plot that happened earlier in the week from one of the other three series running at the time.

** ''[[Law and Order Special Victims Unit|Law And Order: SVU]]'' did this years ago with a 2-part event, "Entitled," the second half of which took place on the original ''[[Law & Order|Law and Order]]''. However, this plays havoc with syndication, because the shows are rerun on different networks in America; the ''SVU'' episode leaves the viewer hanging without the second half.

** ''[[Law & Order|Law and Order]]'' also crossed over with ''[[Homicide: Life on the Street|Homicide]]'' in what was originally a two-parter. While working together on a single case, the two squads had personality clashes, and normally-infallible characters faltered in unfamiliar settings. In a good move, when this episode is rerun TNT will show both the ''L&O'' and ''Homicide'' episodes back-to-back, even though they don't usually show ''Homicide'' at all.

** ''Law and Order: SVU'' also had a brief crossover from the cast of ''Law and Order: Los Angeles''.

* ''[[iCarly]]'' had the crossover episodes "iParty With [[Victorious]]" and "iMeet [[Series/Fred|Fred]]."

* ''[[Community]]'' has a great one, involving ''[[Cougar Town]]''. Abed mentions that he was allowed on the set of ''Cougar Town'' as an extra, and that episode actually exists!

** Chi McBride's character from ''[[Boston Public]]'' also crossed over into an episode of [[Boston Legal]].

*** And for another loop when the appearance of Bill Smitrovich as a guest star on ''[[Boston Legal]]'', in a different role from the cranky, vindictive D.A. he played on The Practice.

*** The role was [[Not So Different]] at all. The main difference was that his ''[[Boston Legal]]'' character worked in a state where Death Penalty was applicable.

*** The most baffling loop-thrower has to be John Laroquette, who had a notable guest appearance as a devious client on ''[[The Practice]]'' before showing up as regular character Carl Sack in ''[[Boston Legal]]'''s fourth season.

* Characters from ''[[The Love Boat]]'' guest-starred in episodes of ''[[Charlie's Angels|Charlies Angels]]'' and ''[[Martin]]''.

** Also, [[The Suite Life of Zack and Cody|Zack and Cody]] got to meet Iron Weasel when they snuck aboard the ''S.S. Tipton'' in an episode of ''[[I'm in The Band]]''.

** Prior to that there was a rather famous one in 1996 with ''[[Sabrina the Teenage Witch (TV series)|Sabrina the Teenage Witch]]'', ''[[Boy Meets World]]'', ''[[Teen Angel]]'', and ''[[You Wish]]'' where the wise cracking [[Baleful Polymorph|wizard turned cat]] Salem uses a [[Timey-Wimey Ball|temporal ball]] and starts some shear fun. * In ''[[The Man from U.N.C.L.E.|The Man From UNCLE]]'''s heyday an episode of ''Please Don't Eat The Daisies'' had the children believing their father was a spy after seeing him pass a matchbook to [[The Man from U.N.C.L.E.|Illya Kuryakin]] in an innocuous (or was it?) encounter. Hilarity ensues until, in the show's concluding scene, someone is brought in to convince the children that they've jumped to a foolish conclusion. It is Robert Vaughn whom the kids recognize instantly as [[The Man from U.N.C.L.E.|Napoleon Solo]].

** There was also an episode featuring ''[[The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.|The Girl From UNCLE]]'', April Dancer.

* ''[[Hercules: The Legendary Journeys]]'' and ''[[Xena: Warrior Princess]]''. You know ''Xena'' has [[Jumped the Shark]] when {{spoiler|the [[Big Bad]] is defeated ''in the other show''}}.

* ''[[Captain Kangaroo]]'' and ''[[Mister Rogers' Neighborhood|Mister Rogers Neighborhood]]'' made appearances on each other's shows.

* A [[Older Than Radio|more recent19th-century example]] (1829) is the 1829 theatrical play ''Don Juan und Faust'' by Christian Dietrich Grabbe, a German dramatist. It is a crossover of the myth of [[Faust]] and of the tale of [[Don Juan]].

* In ''[[Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!|Maji De Watashi Ni Koi Shinasai]]'', members of the [[They Are My Noble Masters|Kuonji household]] shows up in several places, as they live in the neighbouring area. In one of the routes they even spend the night in that mansion. Naturally, one of them mentions that Yukie has a [[Actor Allusion|nice voice]].

* ''[[Least I Could Do]]'' recently had a huge one with characters from every video game webcomic (and a few others), all fighting each other to the death. Rayne {{spoiler|died multiple times, but always came back due to them being clones.}} Combatants included ''[[Dinosaur Comics]]'', ''[[8-Bit Theater|Eight Bit Theater]]'', ''[[Looking for Group]]'', ''[[Ctrl+Alt+Del|Ctrl Alt Del]]'', ''[[Penny Arcade (Webcomic)|Penny Arcade]]'', ''[[Xkcd]]'', ''[[Cyanide & Happiness]]'', and many, ''many'' others. Also, John dressed as the ''[[Green Lantern]]'' and Rayne's car became a [[Transformers]]. And he got it on with some superhero babes.

* It's been established in ''[[The Inexplicable Adventures of Bob]]'' that Molly likes to write [[Crack Fic]] crossover [[Fanfic|fan fics]]s, like ''[[The Brothers Karamazov]]'' meet ''[[Harold and The Purple Crayon]]'' (Harold uses his purple crayon to break Dmitri out of a Siberian prison). One of her fics got illustrated to appear on [[The Adventures of Dr. McNinja|Dr. McNinja's]] website, [http://drmcninja.com/wp-content/uploads/McNinj-2.jpg thusly.]

* In summer 2010, the world was introduced to an ''[[Axe Cop]]'' and ''[[The Adventures of Dr. McNinja|Dr. McNinja]]'' crossover. And it was awesome.

** ''[[Animaniacs]]'' sometimes did crossovers with other cartoons on its show, including one incident where [[Batman]] rescued them from an angry fairy (as Yakko's Shakespeare recital had foretold). Coincidentally, ''[[Batman: The Animated Series|Batman the Animated Series]]'' aired right afterward.

** Interestingly, ''[[Mad]]'' did the very same crossover earlier.

* "[[The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy|The Grim Adventures]] of [[Codename: Kids Next Door|the KND]]" was really more of a ''Kids Next Door'' episode with ''Billy and Mandy'' characters, but many plot points rely on the main characters of the latter (such as the [[Applied Phlebotinum]]). There were also many a [[Shout-Out]] to other Cartoon Network original properties, including a brief [[Art Shift]] to the world of ''[[Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy|Ed, Edd n Eddy]]''.

* [[Seth MacFarlane|Seth MacFarlane's]]'s ''[[Family Guy]]'', ''[[American Dad]]'', and ''[[The Cleveland Show]]''.
