- Americans Hate Tingle: Probably one of the most extreme examples ever. It is no juggernaut in his native land but definitely a very sucessful manga series that got an OVA adaptation. In USA, almost everytime someone opens their mouth to talk about it is how they think it's grotesque at best or outright horrifying, since one of the characters with big breasts it's a Loli. Unless, of course, you a fetish for really big breasts. Either way, it's obvious the series had more mainstream appeal in Japan.
- Ensemble Darkhorse: The Teacher — she was created just to lampshade some Fridge Logic about the club having no adult supervision, and rapidly became one of the most popular characters.
