- The scene with Tadashi confronting Kaori's bloated, charred corpse.
- "You're... You're finally free from the smell.
- In the Gyo OVA. The scene where bloated Tadashi is being attacked by hundreds of angry infected. Kaori knows he is still alive and refuses to lose him, even when he is nothing more than green flesh and mechanical legs, and proceeds to jump on top of the bloated corpses in an attempt to reach out to him. The scene only becomes more tragic when Tadashi, who seemed to have lost all of his humanity, starts reaching out for Kaori as well.
