What they really can't understand is espionage as telepaths can't lie to each other, which presents a problem when one of them adopts a Mesan mercenary agent they had just doubled-aside from the fact that he is really a bit of a rascal and most cats adopt pretty decent humans. In that case it is fortuituous as the enemy can't double him back making it a sort of psionic honey trap.
