While Master Xehanort's heart [[Body Surf|Body Surfs]] through Terra and Riku, Sora opens his heart to protect the hearts of Ventus and Kairi. ''Re:coded'' centers on Sora willingly taking on the pain and suffering of others, while ''Dream Drop Distance'' reveals Xehanort has been infecting others with his evil}}. While Xehanort and his incarnations betray their allies when they [[You Have Outlived Your Usefulness|are of no further use]], Sora relies on [[The Power of Friendship]]. Not to mention that both of them have multiple alter-egos, which have themselves clashed across the series. According to [[Word of God]] as of ''Dream Drop Distance'', Master Xehanort also has the ability to attach different Keychains to his Keyblade to change it's form, too.

* [[Kick the Dog]]: At the end of ''Birth By Sleep'' he liberally does this and then enjoys some [[Evil Gloating]] about it to keep driving Terra's hatred and anger deeper. The crowner is when he {{spoiler|kills Eraqus and destroys the Land of Departure}}.

* [[Knight of Cerebus]]: Once the final battle rolled up in ''Birth By Sleep'', it was clear Master Xehanort was far more menacing, ambitious, powerful, and just downright ''evil'' than anyone seen in the series before. ''Dream Drop Distance'', in revealing the full extent of his plans, has made him ''even worse''.
