* [[Berserk Button]]: The only times he's shown to get angry is when someone messes with his friends and Lupo's [[Sleepyhead]] behavior taken too far from him.

* [[The Power of the Sun]]: His already high strength goes [[Up to Eleven]] whenever he gets in contact with sunlight.

* [[Super Strength]]: He has this quality, especially with [[The Power of the Sun|sunlight]]. Being a very clumsy kid, in addition to forgetting he has this quality, it causes problems more often than not.

* [[Adorkable]]: The living embodiment of this trope. He's [[The Cutie|cute]], [[Nice Guy|sweet]], [[geek|geeky]], [[Tender Tears|cries easily]], and [[Porky Pig Pronunciation|stutters heavily]]. All of this makes him utterly adorable.

* [[Broken Bird]]: She was introduced as this. Thankfully, [[Character Development|this has started to fade]] and is now more cheerful.

* [[Shallow Love Interest]]: She ''seems'' like this at first glance, but she subverts it by showing her struggles with her [[Super-Powered Evil Side]]. And while Frank is an important part of her character, she has her own relationships (Piruja, Guillotine, Billy).

* [[Single Woman Seeks Good Man]]: She falls for [[Dogged Nice Guy|Frank]] for being so nice and helpful to her when she needed it most.

* [[Ambiguous Gender]]: Due to their androgynous appearance.

* [[Fire-Forged Friends]]: The fifth album's premise is they becoming this with Lupo to fight Flan Hellsing.

* [[Berserk Button]]: His goons' stupidity.

* [[Depraved Bisexual]]: Of the [[Ambiguously Bi]] variety. He's dating Guillotine, but he has an unhealthy obsession with Frank (or more accurately, his brains).

* [[Evil Counterpart]]: To Victor. Victor is hardly a saint, but he's mostly naïve and has a decent goal in mind (going back to Miedópolis). Morty, on the other hand, is an evil sociopath who performs even worse acts for personal gain and [[For the Evulz|the lulz]].

* [[Jerk with a Heart of Jerk]]: Don't let his general (although suave) jerkassery fool you, he's actually an evil and unstable sociopath with zero scruples in getting what he wants. It's telling he makes [[Spoiled Brat|Victor]] look like a saint by comparison.

* [[Trigger]]: Mention the word "brains" around him, and he'll end up chopping heads (Mostly [[Butt Monkey|Mienai]]'s).

* [[Jerk with a Heart of Gold]]: She can be kind whenever she wants to, mostly around her friends.

* [[Noble Demon]]: True, she's quite bitchy, but is much more noble and saner that her boyfriend Morty, showing a kind and helpful side to her closest friends.

* [[Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain]]: He makes [[Phineas and Ferb|Doofenshmirtz]] look like [[The Joker]] by comparison.

* [[Knight of Cerebus]]: [[Humans Through Alien Eyes|From the monsters' perspective]], he's shown to be this, since he's a monster-hunting human who has been allowed to reach the breach between human and monster worlds. From the readers' perspective, though, he's [[Harmless Villain|anything]] [[Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain|but]] [[Laughably Evil|this]].

* [[Ambiguously Bi]]: Despite having a daughter, he has a lot of campy mannerisms: He dresses in pink, has feminine manners and interests, and talks in diminutives like [[The Simpsons (animation)|Ned Flanders]].

* [[Nice Guy]]: When not dealing with personality issues, he's very sweet and friendly.
