The game is bright, cheerful, and rather [[Animesque]]. Instead of managing the life of a wide variety of Sims, you create a single character and take care of the whole town. You decide who gets to move into the town, you build their house for them, and you even build furniture. The Sims that you can move in fall into two categories: normal citizens ("townies") and Sims with businesses ("Com Sims"). The former are there to add a bit of color to the town, while the latter will give you several missions where you must build them specific pieces of furniture using "Essences" that make the item appeal to a certain type of Sim. The six interests are Cute, Fun, Geeky, Spooky, Studious, and Tasty, and every Sims has a favorite interest, a second-favorite, and one interest they [[Berserk Button\|despise]]. Here's where a good part of the plot happens, and you go everywhere from here. Also, this is where your recruits hang out when you haven't sent them on missions. * [[Shout-Out]]: In ''Agents'', when meeting Dr. F, He will say [[The Legend of Zelda (~~Video~~video ~~Game~~game)\|"It's dangerous to go alone! Take this,"]] then will give you the magnifying glass upgrade. At the end of the same paragraph he says "[[For Science!]]!" In the above mentioned game, examining a certain pipe in the Industrial District Sewers gives us this gem: " I hope nothing comes spilling out of this sewer pipe. [[Super Mario Bros.\|I wonder if there are any turtles living in there?]] ''Sky Heroes'' has some rather...interesting lines. Candy referring to her team as a [[Power Trio]] may be coincidence, but then we have the chapter title [[Applied Phlebotinum\|Powered Up By Phlebotinum]] and one character remarking on your [[Crowning Moment of Awesome]]...has someone on the [[My Sims]] team been hitting the TV Tropes page? If you send Marlon on the High School Yearbook mission in Agents he will comment that [[Harry Potter\|young wizards have to go to a different school via train and that things are always trying to kill them.]] I wonder why that sounds so familiar... In [[My Sims]] Classic, Vic Vector makes obvious references to World of Warcraft, which includes, bind-on-pickup items, Items that are not suited for Vic's "class", and the trope goes up to 11 when an epic mount is mentioned.
