It's just that, as the characters get to know Angus, he seems less weird because it's easier to dismiss a stranger as a freak than someone that you know. Natasha has always been self-centered (for example, getting excited by the prospect of Hannelore's blood making her guitar look awesome) and really, being uncomfortable with being rich doesn't mean that she's completely awesome all the time. And guess what, the rest of the cast (and the reader) gets to know him better and he's actually a nice guy. And about the bar thing, it's called audacity. He's proud enough and confident in himself to have the guts to do that. Plus, Faye and he aren't total strangers, so he kinda knows what to expect. |
