Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | Sade (pronounce "shah-DAY") is an English group which achieved success in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. In 1984, Sade was created from the ashes of funk band Pride. The band consisted of singer Sade and three musicians: saxophonist/guitarist Stewart Mathewman, bassist Paul Denman and drummer Paul Cooke, who were all originally from Hull. Cooke was sacked, however, before the release of "Diamond Life", which was one of the biggest-selling albums of the 1980s. The band's music features elements of soul, jazz, R&B, quiet storm, soft rock, funk, easy listening and adult contemporary. |
