  • Cargo Ship: Even the Doomguy never had [[media:Chainsaw Girl_9372.jpg|this much love]] for his chainsaw.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Kaoruko is pretty popular, for being an awesome weirdo and incredibly level-headed at the same time.
  • Family Unfriendly Aesop
  • Ho Yay: Present in Kaoruko's story about her and Fumio's shared past life, as a knight and a common soldier, who fought side by side and were executed together. Both were supposedly male, though they are not drawn as such. Their current incarnations have a distinct Les Yay vibe as well.
  • Woobie Destroyer of Worlds: Even after seeing her carve her way through dozens of innocent (if suicidal) people, you can't help feeling sorry for Fumio after reading her Inner Monologue about how she's already dead on the inside and her final wish is to die along with the only boy she ever loved.

Fumio: When I started this chainsaw today, my heart stopped working.
