Shiv-r (pronounced the same as 'shiver') are an Australian industrial band from Sydney. Comprised of founding members Lee Bulig, Pete Crane and Pete's wife, Wendy, Shiv-r have been slowly gaining popularity due to tours with bands such as Hanzel und Gretyl, Combichrist and Hocico. Their music is dark, rough and insanely catchy, blending industrial and rock to create a chaotic result of musical craziness.

Tropes used by Shiv-r include (YMMV tropes found here):
creatortropes
* Accidental Innuendo: From “Hollow Mask”: “Every day I lose myself/I wish I could believe/that I’m really somebody else/when I’m down on my knees”. Wait, what?
* A Good Name for Aa Rock Band: The name has been explained as their wanting to make music that would make people shiver (and shake them out of their stupor).
* Album Title Drop: Hold My Hand is a line from “The End Part 1” (“Hold my hand, scar my skin, broken as we wait for the end”).
* Anti -Love Song: “Taste”
* LippedSequitur Alligator MomentScene: The intro to “Open My Vein” has a rather vicious revenge speech that has absolutely no context and has nothing to do with the song.
* Cluster F -Bomb: Pete tends to break them out live.
* Country Matters: Lee had a very amusing one with his review of the SPL Kultube.

* Creator Couple
* Darker and Edgier: The Parasite EP mainly songs that were slower and less aggressive than Hold My Hand.
Line 34 ⟶ 44:
* Executive Meddling: Shadows Between Worlds has been delayed by their label because some of the bands they were working with haven’t yet completed their parts.
* Gorn: The video for “The End Part 1”.
* Hey, ItsIt's That Guy!: It’s probably too hard to tell under the piercings and hairstyle, but Pete and Wendy were in Angelspit’s video for “Vena Cava”.
* Impossibly Cool Clothes: The skirt Pete wears live.
* Lyrics Video Mismatch: All of them.
* Mean Character, Nice Actor: Onstage, Pete is loud, aggressive, energetic and forceful. Offstage, he’s quiet, laconic, thoughtful and very, very nice.
* Mind Screw: The video for “This Fix”
* New Sound Album: Hold My Hand was industrial rock, whereas This World Erase was more industrial pop-rock.
