Monty Oum was, among other things, a self-taught 3D animator<ref> though he prefered the term "film maker" and "one-man production crew" would be even more appropriate</ref> whose education was entirely observational. Best known for ''[[Haloid]]'' and ''[[Dead Fantasy]]'', though those weren't his first releases. Also known for his work on ''[[Red vs. Blue]]'', for which he worked tirelessly to make Tex even more awesome than previously thought possible. In 2012 he began work on a project that became the much-heralded ''[[RWBY]]''. Worked briefly as a combat designer for Midway and [[Namco Bandai]], and was employed at [[Rooster Teeth]] Productions. His long-term goal, aside from making movies for his fans, was to make the most awesome fighting game ever. Sadly, on February 1, 2015, Monty passed away due to a freak allergic reaction.
