At a Con in 2009 he announced, "I will not die of Alzheimer's. I shall make other arrangements; [[Gallows Humor|I'm going]] [[Taking You with Me|to take the disease with me.]]" Sure enough, in 2011 he began the process intended to lead to his eventual assisted [[Insistent Terminology|death]]. Ironically, he passed away on 12 March 2015 of completely natural causes, not having let the disease slow him down one bit.
