I think the question, Geth, is simply about adding a trope entry to the work page. Jade, there's no copyright violation in just having a trope on the list that TVT also has -- it's only if you use the exact wording as TVT uses for the explanatory text in the entry that's the issue. For example, if a page on TVT had the entry:

Trope Name: Definitely in play in episode 299 when Alice thrashes Bob with a plush tyrannosaurus rex.

copying that word-for-word would not be permitted. But a simple rephrasing, such as

Trope Name: Seen in episode 299 when Bob is beaten about the head and shoulders with a plush dinosaur by Alice.

would be acceptable.
