Most of Trump's promises were ill-conceived and controversial Forget the wall, he promised to bring back waterboarding, impose mandatory death penalties for cop-killers, and end birthright citizenship. Wishful thinking on all three. He also promised term limits on Congress, something that, while desired by most Americans, is beyond the power of the Executive Branch. It would require approval by Congress to ever get started. (Call me a skeptic, but our Congress will NOT vote on a bill that limits their own power.) |
