I did a couple empirical tests, and it appears that using hex color values doesn't work from inside the quote template. I think that might be because it gets stripped out at some point, much like the equals sign does -- possibly because it's a delimiter used in URLs. I tried to create a Template:# to function much the same as the existing Template:=, but (probably for this reason) the wiki doesn't offer a page creation option for it. |

The best I can suggest is use the closest "word colors" -- blue and gray -- instead of hex values. |
