So according to the description, this trope is in desperate need of a new name. It's been tough to hash something together, but I think I've got one worked out. But first, I'd like some clarification: does "Tropeophile" (or whatever the new name will be) specifically mean the character has to be ''in love'' with the concept they're obsessed with, or is it just an all-consuming obsession that ''can'' go as far as romantic or erotic? Because I've got "Erotic Oddball Fixation" for the former, and "Obsessive Oddball Fixation" for the latter. I've even got plenty of examples to add for the latter if that's how we're interpreting it! |
