* Wilhelm Busch's 19th century stories feature corporal punishment for kids (by caning). There are also some antisemitic bits in (lesser known) stories. Though it should be pointed out: A real antisemite wouldn't have had three such bits in his work, but three hundred.
* Green Lantern Hal Jordan premiered in the late 1950s with a female boss/love interest who ran a military-industrialist complex air base, and an Inuit sidekick who not only knew his secret identity, but kept Jordan's power source safe and even stood in for him when Jordan was off-world. These concepts were quite progressive at the time, but to modern readers get easily overshadowed by his boss turning to supervillainy to try to force Green Lantern into marriage and his sidekick gleefully accepting a blatantly racist nickname.
* During the 1990's during Devin Grayson's run on Nightwing, one annual issue showed Dick Grayson sleeping with Barbara Gordon in her hospital bed after she was paralyzed by the Joker, before revealing the following morning that he just stopped by to invite Barbara to his and Starfire's wedding. Barbara was utterly disgusted and ordered Dick out, but the failure of either Dick or Barbara to ever admit to this indiscretion either to Kory, or at the very least to not see each other romantically has aged absolutely horribly. The fact that Kory was reduced for over a decade to still wanting to be with Dick, while Barbara has been consistently depicted as his rightful love further adds to how poorly this has aged. The fact that Starfire is polyamorous, which is very strict about communication and treats infidelity and adultery as cardinal sins makes it even worse. Now, if this stunt happened today, both Dick and Barbara would seen in a terrible light, with Dick's reputation as a Nice Guy, Single Woman Seeks Good Man character would be seriously tested, if not outright tarnished depending on how he handled the aftermath or if he expressed remorse, while Barbara would fall under harsh criticism for continuing to date Dick despite being aware of how badly he hurt Kory. Unsurprisingly, due to this, most modern adaptations of the Teen Titans have frequently had Dick and Kory as the couple, with Barbara either not mentioned, or being considerably deaged down to the point that a possible love triangle would be implausible. Very tellingly, outside of the comics, the only time Barbara has ever been depicted as a romantic interest for Nightwing is if Starfire is not featured in it or hinted in it.
* During the 2000's run of the Teen Titans, Rose Wilson was depicted as a Shameless Fanservice Girl, an underage drinker, underage smoker, and portrayed as the Token Evil Teammate while also being the sole Asian character on the team. This type of characterization would now be heavily criticized for relying on Asian stereotypes, especially given that Rose had been depicted as quite the complex character during the Titans run right before the end of the 20th century. Given that Rose has not been depicted with any of these traits ever since this run, DC likely sees this depiction as an Old Shame as well, frequently characterizing her as a heroic person, and while not flawless, is always shown being compassionate and kind hearted, with the sole exception being her own father Deathstroke, given that she frequently calls him out on his poor treatment of her.
