* [[Always Save the Girl]]: Inugami. Having a conscience [[Chronic Hero Syndrome|hurts.]]

* [[Anguished Declaration of Love]]: Chapter 97 has a ''several'' pages-long one from {{spoiler|Inugami}} to {{spoiler|Aoshika}}.

** Eventually chapter 113 gives us the other side, {{spoiler|with Haguro's death giving closure to the arc, Aoshika murmurs in her mind that she loves Inugami, her very existence belongs to him; the sad part is that she couldn't say to him, as Inugami apparently vanished after the fight, on his death bet no less, his aunt even says he is dead already}}.

* [[Badass Abnormal]]: As of Chapter 65, Haguro thinks he's one. Well, unless [[Ax Crazy|madness]] counts as a superpower. Played straight later in Chapter 105, {{spoiler|by eating two of Inugami's fingers Haguro develops some powers right away, like better night vision and sense of smell}}.

* [[Big Damn Heroes]]: Inugami arrives just in time to keep Kuroda from {{spoiler|busting caps in Vice President Kimura.}}

* [[Quit Your Whining]]: In chapter 69, Inugami, or more accurately, his conscience admits that Haguro could just be screwing with him for giggles. He then tells himself to nut up and save her anyway, because [[Hot for Teacher|whatever his thoughts on her are,]] she shouldn't have to die for him.

* [[Rape as Backstory]]: Aoshika was sexually abused as a high-schooler, and is then brutally raped by Haguro. Ryuuko was raped repeatedly by her father and a pimp of sorts.

** Later {{spoiler|Inagami}} goes through one himself starts killing Haguro's goons left and right.

* [[Super Senses]]: After {{spoiler|Haguro ate two of Inugami's fingers}}, he started to develop some super human abilites right away, such as {{spoiler|being able to see better in the dark}} and {{spoiler|able to trail Inugami's blood like if it was highlighted by luminol}}.
