''[['''Yu-Gi-Oh! (Carddas Version)]]''''' was the first card game released based on the ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh!]]'' series, created by Bandai using the first chapters of the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! (manga)|''Yu-Gi-Oh!'' manga]] and [[Yu-Gi-Oh First Anime Series]] as inspiration. It's worth noticing that in this early stage [[Screw theNew Rules Ias Havethe Plot Demands|the rules of the card game were nearly non-existent]],{{context|reason=Is that the correct trope for this text?}} so pretty much every rule was created out of the blue.
 
For starters, all cards were yellow. All monsters were normal monsters and they each had one of the 13 rules printed on them, and there was one additional type called "[[White Mage|White Magic]]". Also, equip cards were treated as a different type of cards from Spell cards.
