  • Alas Poor Villain: The ending is sympathetic to Japan.
  • Alternate Character Interpretation: China, instead of his usual happy disposition, is pilant, silent and broken. Japan is psychotic, obsessive and violent under a thin veil of creepy calmness, instead of his canon inscrutable and polite character.
  • Tear Jerker: Quite a few, despite the edginess.
