Being a drama fic, A Heart of Gold has some legitimately sad moments.

  • When Kermit admits to Miss Piggy that he accidentlly killed a five year old child.
  • After Kermit decides to go back the gang decide to put on a fundraiser show to help support the war, but the audience is almost completely empty! Robin and Sweetums have an act together and the audience does laugh, but it sounds empty to Robin, who curls up on a crate and cries... And to make it even more sad, Clifford blames himself for the shows failure...
  • The God Bless the USA reprise in Chapter 63.
