• Gary Stu: Perhaps avoided with Sonek Pran, but it appears the author was aware of the potential dangers; the impression is that the Pran character has been deliberately "de-Stu'd" (was it successful? You decide). Many readers seemed to find him genuinely likeable, so it seems to have worked for the most part.
