In-universe, the common claim that all intelligent life originated on Earth is disputed, and several planets have "primitive" populations that may or may not have been descendants of colonists from Earth.

* ''Mr. Young'': Mrs. Byrne looks, behaves, and is treated like a human, but considering [[Really 700 Years Old|her age]] she's far too old to be any known species.
