In Eric Garcia's Anonymous Rex series, various species of Talking Animals live among us disguised as humans. That's not the weird part. The main character is a Velociraptor detective who is trying to kick his drug addiction - an addiction to basil and other cooking herbs, which intoxicate Dinosaurs. That's still not the weird part. One of the books has him trying to find whoever stole one of the Dinosaur community's most prized relic, a millennia-old Dinosaur penis cover... which leads to a bust of illegal Dino/human mating, which would not have happened without that cover. That's still not the weird part...
