  • By the end of the film, Barbie's creator expresses great pride on how far her creation has come and how she inspired generations of children. Ruth shows Barbie how it feels to be a human; in spite of all its flaws especially for women, Barbie ultimately chooses to give up her state as an artificial creation and live alongside the very people who play with her, finding meaning in life and accepting her natural demise as a mortal being. Ruth then grants her creation's wish to become human, taking the name "Barbara Handler".
