Describe Bonzi Buddy here...
Considering All The Tropes isn't a bashfest, this might be a challenge.
Bonzi Buddy was an "intelligent software agent" whose avatar was a purple gorilla. Bonzi Buddy could sing songs, "help" you out in searches, and manage downloads.
It was also a complete pain in the ass, eventually being declared malware.
That Other Wiki has an article. Encyclopedia Dramatica has a less kind one.
Tropes used in BonziBuddy include:
- Abandonware: Bonzi Buddy was discontinued in 2004.
- Stop Helping Me!: Bonzi Buddy's "help" was dodgy at best, never mind the fact that this program was pretty much malware.
