Bride Wars/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Designated Hero: The two leads.
  • Les Yay: Between the two leads
  • Moral Event Horizon: A mild example. The two women do such terrible things to one another on a vitally important day that it's difficult for either of them to maintain the audience's sympathy.
  • Shallow Love Interest: The two male grooms are barely noticeable throughout the film and are more plot vehicles than characters. At no point do they issue a strong word to their future wives to stop acting like maniacs.
  • Unfortunate Implications: Women will thoughtlessly throw away lifelong friendships if they get in the way of the perfect wedding and will only come to their senses if their behavior leads to disaster or extreme embarrassment.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Fletcher. He's the only sane man in this universe and calls out Emma and Liv on their obnoxious behavior. However we are supposed to dislike him because he has the nerve to tell Emma what she is doing is wrong. Unlike Liv's fiance old whats-his-face who just smiles and agrees with everything she does.
