Chocobo Racing/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Crowning Music of Awesome: The game's soundtrack consists of remixes of older Final Fantasy music, so it should not be surprising if some of those are already this in their respective games. Examples include the Floating Gardens music (remix of "Spreading Grand Wings"), the Fantasia music (remix of "Battle to the Death"), and the credits song ("Diamonds in My Heart").
  • That One Level:
    • The Black Manor is this for those who are not used to the braking system, especially beginners. The sharp turn at the beginning, followed by a long spiral path, then several more sharp turns before leaping out from the manor to the much easier outside portion. Not to mention, the library section can easily render players stuck if they cannot handle the turns due to the wide open rooms separated by narrow corridors and a cage trap that can block their way, wasting precious time. The outside portion, however, is short, as it leads back to the finish line and the player has to go through it all over again for a few more laps. This is worse in the Story Mode as the player has only four playable racers available that time and the rival, Black Magician, is more than happy to unleash -ga spells thanks to his Ability unless the player Mugs him at perfect times.
    • Fantasia has many Bottomless Pits and winding paths, requiring racers with good handling to minimize the risk of falling off. Also, it is the longest track in the game. In Story Mode, Final Boss Bahamut is fast and does not fall easily, not to mention his immunity to Blizzard and Blizzara... and his signature Megaflare bypasses both Barrier and Reflect.
    • The Secret Level F.F.VIII Circuit also counts. It is not as long as Fantasia, but makes up for it by having tons of sharp turns. Hope the player likes bumping into walls.
