Co-producer and head writer on Torchwood's first two series, Chibnall has written 8 episodes of that show. He also wrote the Doctor Who episodes "42", "The Hungry Earth", and "Cold Blood", the latter two featuring the return of old enemies the Silurians.
He is a showrunner for Law and Order UK and also wrote a few episodes of Life On Mars.
