  • Crowning Moment of Funny: At the end of book two, one of the male characters asks one of the female characters to come visit him at his manor. After she complains about not having anything to do when she's not busy healing people, especially him, the following conversation occurs.

(Vahanian) Man: I could suggest other pastimes.
(Carina) Woman: I'll have to bring my chaperone. [turns to her brother]
(Cam) Woman's Brother: I can be bribed.

  • Recycled Script: Most noticeable in book 2, which recycles chunks of dialogue and occasionally even features the same conversations twice, with marginally different wording. There's also the tendency to remind readers incessently of each character's hair colour.
  • True Art Is Angsty: Tris spends a lot of time angsting over the deaths in his family.
  • Wangst: Tris spends a lot of time angsting over the deaths in his family.
