Cloud9 is a Audio-Manga written by Caleb Robinson-Cook in 2011. Teaming up with online friend Alexia Kalligeraki, who did the art, it follows the story of Kibiko Sorayama, an Action Girl whose one and only goal is to get into the Detective Agency on Cloud9 - the ninth of twelve chunks of countries floating in the sky after the world has been lost to the biologically-fought World War III. Her rival comes in the form of Dokei Kanegami, an Anti-Hero who wants to get into the Detective Agency for his own unknown reasons...

Tropes used in Cloud 9 include:

• Action Girl: Dokei, Student #1 and Student #2 are victims of trying to approach Kibiko.
• Berserk Button: Don't call humans inferior in front of Dokei or mention Kibiko's past.
• Deadpan Snarker: "Oh, poor baby. Fine, I'll make sure you don't cross my field of vision again."
• Rape as Drama/Rape as Backstory: Kibiko's backstory includes her rape as a 12 year-old. As a result, she undergoes visible trauma and hatred of people throughout the story.
