• Cross-Dressing Voices: Dennis is voiced by a woman in the new series.
• Executive Meddling: Walter's girlfriend Matilda was created to dispel Moral Guardian rumours that Walter was gay and Dennis was homophobic.
  • After a few years the character of Matilda was dropped and Walter was made less flamboyant.
• Hey, It's That Voice!: The first cartoon had (in order of syndication) Billy Connolly, Leslie Philips, Greg Proops, two Blue Peter presenters, Prunella Scales, Bernard Cribbins (as an obnoxious American oil tycoon!!!), Brian Blessed and Jimmy Hibbert, famous for voiceovers in works like Danger Mouse and Avenger Penguins.
