::And after a little research, modifying the template seems possible, but discouraged by at least the Wikipedia documentation for reflist. One reason (no standard section title) seems to be irrelevant in our little domain, as we'll be setting the ATT standard; the other (edit link that would open the template itself) seems avoidable with the right "magic word" if some of the other pages I saw are any indication.
