mysteriouslystrangeyeti: What do you think of TV Tropes overall? bogleech: It’s a really useful resource and a good way to learn about stuff you might want to check out, but it also breeds a kind of unfortunate mindset. It’s not as bad as it used to be, but there’s some people who basically see all entertainment through trope-o-vision and think all you gotta do to write a story or come up with a character is throw a bunch of tropes and references together and you’ll have something good.
Not to mention, after the site banned all discussion of certain adult content, you can no longer tell if a series you read about on it is actually going to gross you the fuck out.
