You know it's going to end bad, when {{spoiler|after Devon shoots the man who is beating up Trent and helps him to his car, she gives Trent a comb and a mirror and asks him to throw them out the window as he drives away, to cover his tracks. When he later does so, a river rises up underneath him, and a forest sprouts up behind him.}} This actually makes some sense metaphorically and was slightly set up, but still seems to come completely out of nowhere.
