George Carlin was or will be The Doctor

George actually is a time-traveler from the future who goes around in a police box. The role of Rufus in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was actually inspired by Carlin and with only the details of his TARDIS, in this case a normal phone booth, changed for copyright reasons and to make it easier for an American audience to recognize.
