  • Romantic Plot Tumor: The romance between Marie and Joe could be completely excised and not impact the plot at all. It seems to exist only to give her a reason not to kill herself in the end - after the plot resolution.
    • That and there was a lot more nudity because of it.
  • Straw Man Has a Point: Marie, having just inadvertently created a bunch of Mafia vampires and having to clean it up, walks towards the rising sun with the intention of killing herself and thus preventing her from making the same mistake again. She's talked out of it by her new love interest, but now that we have just seen just how easily it is to make a vampire - indeed multiple vampires in a single evening - it's hard to say she shouldn't kill herself.
