- Fake Mixed Race: Caine is half Chinese. David Carradine is not.
- Fake Nationality: In addition to David Carradine (although in fairness Caine was half-American), the two-part episode "Beseiged" featured his then-beloved Barbara Hershey (then billed as Barbara Seagull) as a Chinese girl called Nan Ching.
- What Could Have Been: Imagine Bruce Lee as Caine; he helped develop the series, but America was not ready for a Chinese person to play a Chinese character (Bruce already appeared as Kato on The Green Hornet, but he was regularly asked to "keep his mask on").
