  • Translation Correction: The first English language production (and many that came after) restored elements from the original fairy tale, such as the fairy godmother and glass slipper.
  • Misblamed: Italian censors would never allowed a woman to show off her ankle on stage, explaining why the familiar glass slipper was changed to a bracelet. When the play was performed in France (where Cinderella is from), it was rumored to be because of the actress having ugly feet.
